Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Kanvas, a product operated by McTekk (the “Company”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit kanvas.dev, read our documentation or blog, contact us, or request a walkthrough (together, the “Site”).

By using the Site you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. Customers who use the Kanvas platform are additionally bound by their agreement with us, which governs the data they process through the platform.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you complete a form on the Site (walkthrough request, assessment, data-readiness scan, beta waitlist, contact form or newsletter) we collect the details you enter: typically your name, work email address, company name and any message or answers you choose to share.

2.2 Usage and Device Data

We automatically collect technical information such as pages viewed, referring page, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, language, and interactions with buttons and forms. We use it to operate the Site, measure which pages and campaigns work, and keep the Site secure.

2.3 Campaign Attribution

If you arrive from a campaign link, we keep its UTM parameters and the page variant you saw in your browser’s session storage so that a later form submission can be attributed to the right campaign.

2.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our analytics and advertising providers use cookies, pixels and local storage. They are described in our Cookie Policy, which forms part of this Privacy Policy.

2.5 Age Restrictions

The Site is intended for business users. It is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

3. Use of Information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your requests, schedule walkthroughs and deliver what you asked for;
  • send the newsletter or product updates you subscribed to;
  • operate, secure, debug and improve the Site, and prevent spam and abuse (for example with reCAPTCHA);
  • measure the performance of pages and marketing campaigns;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • service providers that process it on our behalf, such as hosting (Vercel), form handling and our CRM on the Kanvas platform, email delivery, and Google reCAPTCHA for spam protection;
  • analytics and advertising providers that receive usage data through tags on the Site: Google (Tag Manager and Analytics), Microsoft (Clarity) and Meta (Pixel and Conversions API);
  • professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it;
  • a successor, in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

5. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Lead and contact records are kept while the relationship or enquiry is active and for a reasonable period afterwards; analytics data is kept according to each provider’s retention settings. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see “Your Rights”).

6. Data Security

We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls and server-side verification of form submissions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Controller

McTekk, operating Kanvas, is the controller of personal information collected through the Site. You can reach us at hello@kanvas.dev.

8. International Transfers

Our providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

9. Legal Bases for Processing (EU GDPR / UK GDPR)

Where those laws apply, we process personal information on these bases:

  • contract or steps before a contract — to respond to your request and provide what you ask for;
  • legitimate interests — to secure and improve the Site and measure business performance, balanced against your rights;
  • consent — for non-essential cookies and marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time;
  • legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information by law.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data-protection authority. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising; we do not sell personal information.

To exercise a right, email hello@kanvas.dev. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

11. Marketing Communications

We send marketing emails only to people who asked for them or where the law allows. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to us to opt out. Service messages about a request you made are not marketing.

12. Third-Party Links and Integrations

The Site links to third-party sites and services (for example scheduling tools, LinkedIn and the Kanvas API documentation). We do not control their practices; please read their policies. Information that customers connect to the Kanvas platform from their own tools is processed under the customer agreement, not under this policy.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the latest revision, and material changes will be signalled on the Site.
